Portland Eye Care first opened its doors in 1980. The office was established and successfully ran by Dr. Suzanne Maystead for almost 40 years before her retirement. Dr. Maystead and Dr. Andrews first met in 2003 and Dr. Andrews started working with her in 2015. She then purchased the practice in April 2018.

Dr. Krystal Andrews is originally from Mulliken, Michigan and she is a Grand Ledge High School graduate. She received her Bachelor's of Vision Science from Ferris State University and her Doctorate from Michigan College of Optometry. She is currently a trustee on the Michigan Optometric Association Board and is a member of the Honors Advisory Council for Ferris State University.
